Flyjong has been released on Wavedash

Hello, this is Yuu!
I released my mahjong game, Flyjong, on Wavedash.
The Wavedash Version
For the Wavedash version, I removed the sexual content and story sections.
The game is now focused entirely on playing mahjong itself, so I think of this version as something like a “casual version where you can just try the gameplay.”
I also added English language support this time. Given the nature of the platform, there is a good chance that players who don’t speak Japanese will try the game, so I thought it was worth supporting English.
However, this ended up taking more work than I expected. It wasn’t as simple as replacing the text, since I also had to remake some parts where text was included directly in images.
When a project isn’t designed with multilingual support in mind from the beginning, things like this can become a problem later on.
The Starting Score Has Been Changed to 5,000
The biggest change in the Wavedash version is the starting score. I lowered it from 25,000 points in the original version to 5,000.
Flyjong still has some parts of its balance designed around the use of items, and without items, it is difficult to score high-value hands. As a result, it could take quite a long time to reduce 25,000 points, often leading to drawn-out games without a clear conclusion.
By lowering the starting score to 5,000, each hand has more impact, and games can now be decided in a shorter amount of time. As a result, the game has become much more casual and, I think, easier to play.
On a platform like Wavedash, getting someone to play the game at least once is especially important, so I think this change was a good fit for the platform as well.
What’s Next?
There are still quite a few things I’d like to do, such as adding new characters and items, implementing the tile-discarding system, and eventually turning it into an online service.
However, the reality is that I haven’t received enough feedback yet to justify focusing on these implementations.
For now, I plan to leave the game as it is and see how things go, while focusing on a different project for a while.
If you get a chance to play it, I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts, no matter what they are. Your feedback will help me decide what to work on next.
As for the voting period for js13kGames, I’ll write about that in my next post.
