Two Weeks Since Starting a New Project
Posted on March 21, 2026

Hello, this is Yuu!
It’s been about two weeks since I started working on a new game after releasing Dicewar.
This time, I’m developing a puzzle-focused game that combines Sokoban-style mechanics with roguelike elements.
I initially thought it would be something I could build casually, but the goal is still far from clear, and it’s turning out to be more challenging than expected.
The screenshot shows a test map I’m currently using, and as you can see, the in-game visuals are still represented with simple symbols.
The core systems are starting to come together, but the UI and assets are still a long way off.
In particular, implementing detailed game rules and organizing the overall design has been taking more time than I anticipated.
Since Dicewar only took about two weeks to develop, I assumed this project would follow a similar timeline—but that turned out to be a big miscalculation.
I also have ideas for future projects, but for now, I want to focus on bringing this one to completion.
